St. Charles offers health care career scholarships to Jefferson County students

BEND, Ore. — St. Charles Health System is making available up to 10 scholarships to undergraduate or continuing education students in Jefferson County who are enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours in an accredited program that leads to a health-related career.

The scholarships, which will range between $1,000 and $2,500, are available to students who are current residents of Jefferson County or who are graduates of a Jefferson County high school. Scholarships may be renewed, but each year applicants must reapply and compete.

Additionally, selection is based on a combination of the following criteria:
  • Strength of application, especially short essays
  • Personal qualities as described by references
  • Academic achievement and perseverance
  • Financial need
