North Star Award

Each year St. Charles Foundation honors an outstanding physician practicing in Central Oregon.

Purpose and intention of the North Star Award

This award is presented annually at the Saints Gala to recognize an actively practicing physician in Central Oregon whose work has been defined by compassionate patient care, professionalism and a commitment to improving the lives of the Central Oregon population. This award seeks to recognize talented physicians who have made it their life’s mission to provide patient focused care and who have enriched the field of medicine.

This award is given by St. Charles Foundation in partnership with St. Charles Health System.


Nominees must be an actively practicing physician providing care for patients in Central Oregon.

The winner will be presented with the award at St. Charles Foundation’s Saints Gala, and a $5,000 scholarship will be awarded in the winner's name to a high school senior who is pursuing education for a career in health care.

Nomination process

Nominations may be made by any individual who can speak to the candidate’s qualifications or candidates may self-nominate.

Winner must be present at Saints Gala.
