Rod and Candace Wimer of Bend know just how trying it’s been for health care workers to do their jobs during a pandemic. They’ve heard the stories from their niece, an Emergency Room charge nurse at Oregon Health & Science University, who has been working tirelessly to care for patients with COVID-19.
That’s why the Bend couple generously donated $2,500 to St. Charles Foundation “to ensure that our health care workers serving on the front lines and dealing with this pandemic at St. Charles hospital are adequately protected, and to encourage others in the community to show their appreciation by doing likewise.”
The couple also wants St. Charles caregivers to know how appreciative they are of their willingness “to step forward and put their lives on the line in service to others.”
