More than a gift

Your donation to St. Charles Foundation is more than just a gift to the hospital facilities, equipment, programs and services we fund. Each contribution — no matter how big or small — brings us closer to achieving St. Charles' vision of "Creating America's healthiest community, together."

There are many ways to give to the St. Charles Foundation. The option that is best for you depends upon your individual goals and interests.

  • Make a one-time or recurring donation online.
  • Donate by mail to St. Charles Foundation, 2500 NE Neff Road, Bend, OR 97701.
  • Donate by phone by calling us at 541-706-6996.
  • Donate appreciated stock and securities to St. Charles Foundation to earn a charitable income tax deduction that can generate greater income while reducing or even eliminating capital gains tax.
  • Give directly to a specific program or, with a donation of at least $25,000, establish a named endowment to fund the health issue or initiative you care about most.
  • Explore planned giving options that support St. Charles, while providing you and your family with financial and tax benefits.

However you choose to give, your donation is essential to our work at the St. Charles Foundation and our support of St. Charles Health System in providing better health, better care and better value for patients and their families in Central Oregon.

Heaven Can Wait has reached an incredible milestone in serving our community for more than 25 years. Since 2000, this community celebration supports Sara’s Project, a St. Charles Foundation initiative, which funds community education, early detection resources and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon.

Over the years, this event has raised over $1.75M to provide love, support and compassion for breast cancer patients and their families. In 2025, we hope to raise an additional $25K in donations for patient support programs that help provide free wigs, post-surgical bras, education about the importance of early detection.

Can't attend this year but want to support cancer care in Central Oregon?

Donate

Join the 25K Challenge and make an immediate impact for breast cancer patients

It is as easy as 1,2,3

1 - Create your own fundraising page and set your goal as an individual or with a team and harness the power of your network to help us reach our $25,000 goal. Create your page >

2 - Personalize your page to show people why you are passionate about Sara's Project.

3 - Share your personal fundraising link with friends, family and colleagues, giving them the opportunity to donate in your honor even if they can't attend the event.

Registration and T-shirt fees cover event costs. 100% of all donations go directly to support Sarah’s Project, benefiting local breast cancer patients — and all donations are tax-deductible.

Heaven Can Wait was founded in 2000 by Charlene Levesque, a breast cancer survivor. Charlene's diagnosis prompted Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) to begin formulating the idea of a women's event that would promote early detection of cancer and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.

Your participation in Heaven Can Wait:
* Raises funds for Sara's Project.
* Educates the community about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
* Encourages community members to walk or run for their health.
* Brings the community together in a celebration of life.
