Heaven Can Wait 5K has reached an incredible milestone in serving our community for more than 25 years. Since 2000, this community celebration supports Sara’s Project, a St. Charles Foundation initiative, which funds community education, early detection resources and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon.
Over the years, this event has raised over $2 million to provide love, support and compassion for breast cancer patients and their families. In 2026, we hope to raise an additional $25K in donations for patient support programs that help provide free wigs, post-surgical bras, education about the importance of early detection.

Check them out!Heaven Can Wait was founded in 2000 by Charlene Levesque, a breast cancer survivor. Charlene's diagnosis prompted Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) to begin formulating the idea of a women's event that would promote early detection of cancer and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.
